WATERFORD
A CHARTER TOWNSHIP
The City of Waterford, Michigan has been
retrofitting their lift stations with Vaughan Submersible Chopper Pumps since 1996,
replacing conventional "non-clog" pumps that frequently clogged on rags and
other typical wastewater debris. Tom Coburn, Superintendent, has this to say about
his Vaughan pumps:
"Just
recently Waterford Township had almost 3 inches of rain in a 24 hour period, which really
puts a strain on the sanitary sewer pumping stations. The solids that are in the
sanitary sewer mains with that much rain are pushed to the sanitary sewer pumping stations
causing pumps to plug up with debris, which would normally cause backups. The
Vaughan Chopper Pump did not clog, the other pump did. If it would not have been for
the Vaughan Chopper Pump we may have backed up some homeowners. This incident has
made believers out of some non-believers and for that reason I have just placed another
order to replace the other non-clogging pump with a Vaughan Chopper."
